The 2019-2020 school year will be my eleventh year teaching, and my sixth year at Spicewood Elementary. I cannot begin to express my excitement and anticipation for this year. Spicewood has always held a special place in my heart and it brings back so many fun and exciting memories I have made and have come to cherish.
Prior to coming to Spicewood, I taught fourth grade in Belton and Killeen. I am confident that this year will be a great learning experience for all students and I am looking forward to working with your child. I completed my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at Howard Payne University in 2009. Following my first year of teaching, I completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on mathematics in 2011. I am a Native Texan, born and raised in Austin. However, I was given the opportunity to attend different schools as my dad's successful coaching career progressed. I spent my elementary school years at Spicewood, middle school years in East Texas, and my high school career in Dallas where I graduated from Highland Park High School. My husband, Malcolm (who teaches and coaches at Westwood), and I live in Georgetown with our son, Finley, and dog, Coach. I enjoy spending time relaxing in the back yard, playing with Finley, and taking Coach to the dog park. When given the opportunity, Malcolm and I love to sneak away to the beach, spend time with our families, friends, and travel to new places. |
